Today I took the opportunity to snap some shots of our more than 300 year old Fish Market Square in Karlskrona.

This lovely lady statue named “Fisherman's wife” is one of Karlskronas most photographed works of art.
The statue was made by Erik Höglund (1932-1998) and placed on Fish Market Square in 1982 (same year I was born :p). In Swedish the statue is called Fiskargumman.
And she represents all fishermen wives who in the olden days used to row into town from the surrounding islands to sell fish here. :-)
