Swedish traditions makeover
August 4, 2011 7:02 PM

Lately I have been working on expanding and implementing a makeover on my Swedish Traditions section on this blog. Before I only had one page with all traditions on it, now each tradition has its own page. In total I have created 12 new pages about different Swedish traditions. I have updated info, photos, layout and added some new traditions.

Even though it takes a lot of time to put together these pages I really enjoy it because I learn so much myself. Like how many of our traditions originates from Germany. Good thing I don't have to do any German Translation though. Not my forte, hehe. But it is indeed a fun and creative way to learn about traditions and Sweden for me.

Check out the new Swedish traditions pages at -->Swedish Traditions

I would love to hear what you think of them! :-)

My one year blogoversary!
July 4, 2011 10:50 PM

One year ago today I published my first post on this blog, yay! And yikes how quickly time flies by! But I'm so glad I decided to start this blog, and even more glad that I still love working on it. Because I was a bit afraid I'd lose interest in it eventually. However that is absolutely not the case! I'm still constantly thinking of what I can post about, what new pages would be fun to add and how I can improve this blog. I have also realized that I will never finish this blog, it's under constant construction. Lol! So my first post --> "Still under construction, but getting there" is kind of as much current today as it was one year ago.

Now there are so many reasons why I continue to blog, but the most important reason is that this is indeed the perfect platform for me to utilize my creativity. Even when a post take many hours to complete, those hours fly by because I enjoy it so much! A truly wonderful feeling!

And although I write this blog because I want to share my life, Sweden and lovely Lisen with the world, I also write it very much for myself. I actually think is fun to read my posts sometimes. Hehe. Because it gives me a well needed perspective of my life, a bit of distance I suppose. As well as a reminder of events, moments and feelings I might have forgotten if I hadn't written them down. However I would be lying if I said comments, follows and visitor counts doesn't matter to me, YOU DO! And I'm truly grateful for every single one!

On a more personal life update note. It's now July, the big vacation month in Sweden. I guess I'm on vacation? I say that because work has been very slow lately so I'm not sure what to expect... Anyway, the weather has been so so, kind of humid and cloudy all weekend. Not so humid today though, but cloudy. Lisen is very energetic these days, lol! Almost like a pup again for some reason? But I love it! It's great to see her happy and healthy. I have some fun plans ahead, which I of course will write about here, but I don't want to jinx anything by writing about it before it happens though, hehe. Ops, does that make me superstitious. Hm? Oh well. All in all life is aaall good right now and I would describe this past year as a calm and enlightened one for me, on many levels. :-)

Awards and Featured - Thank You!
April 26, 2011 12:02 PM

The last few weeks I have been given some awards by other bloggers. I have also had the honor of being featured over at The Littlest Crafter in a wonderful Follower Fridays post. I can't tell you enough how truly grateful I am to have been picked among other amazing bloggers for this. Thank You so much!!!

I also want to take this opportunity, yet again - because it does mean the world to me, to Thank everyone who ever visit, comment, follow and/or e-mail me. I am truly appreciative and grateful for your time and thoughts. Thank You so much! ♥ ♥ ♥

Below are the awards I have received.
Thank You:
Crysta Ville
Thank You:
Mareeyah
Thank You:
MyMommyConfessions
There are a few rules attached to each award:

Stylish Blogger Award

1. Thank the person who gave you the award.
2. Write seven things about yourself.
3. Pass on to seven other bloggers.
4. Tell the seven awardees of their award!

Versatile Blogger Award

1. Thank and link back to the blogger that awarded you the badge.
2. Share 7 things about you.
3. Award 5 or 15 other bloggers.
4. Contact these bloggers to let them know about the award.

So I have chosen to combine these three. Meaning, I will share 7 things about myself and then pass on the awards 7x3. In total I will share links here to 21 awesome bloggers. I do hope you will check them out. :-)

But first - 7 things about myself

1. I have quite a few grey hairs which I frantically dye.

2. I almost never watch TV. The TV-shows I do watch, I usually watch on my computer.

3. I rarely listen to music either. If I do, it's mostly in my car.

4. When I sleep alone I must have a light on. But I don't consider myself afraid of the dark though...hm?

5. I wish I could enjoy to eat olives, because they do look so tasty! But I just can't seem to like them.

6. I have gained 4 kilos (9 pounds) in the last year. Yikes!

7. I'm nearsighted on my left eye and farsighted on my right eye. Which was very helpful to me when I was a child. Because whenever I was unsure of which was left and right, I just had to close one eye. Blurry sight = Left and Clear sight = Right.

And I give the awards to:
Red.Yellow.Blue Hey, I'm Amy A Kind of Normal Life
The Littlest Crafter Picture Clusters La Dulce Vida - The Sweet Life
Angels in my Garden Breathe...Shine...Love Fuzzy Scalpel
Adirondack Astonomy UnoGratia InJensMind
Emm in London TexaGermaNadian 2 Chicks on Weight Watchers
100 Miles Highway Life of Lovely BlogDope's House of Blog
Stairstep Boys Sprig Blossoms PF in USA Blog
Now I'm not sure of the origin of these awards, but I like to give without any strings attached. So if any awardee here choose not to do a post, that's fine with me. No obligations. Although it is indeed a fun and great way to share blogs you like with others. :p

Once again Thank You All!

Is the Earth spinning faster or what?
September 16, 2010 14:39

Yiax, I can't believe how fast this week has gone...Ok, not over yet but it's already Thursday! Seriously, has somebody pressed a fast forward button? Hm...Anyway, I'm STILL working on my Swedish pages, currently on Swedish traditions. And I of course want to include my favourite ones with some history and pictures, which takes time. But I'd rather spend that extra time on it to get it done properly!

And while I have been busy with my traditions, it's been rainy and windy most of the week here in Karlskrona, and fall has pretty much arrived. However, I like fall, especially the amazing transformations of colours on leaves in all the trees! It's insane how beautiful our nature is! The downside though, these cold, windy and wet days...

Now back to working on some more traditions before I'm off to work (that I actually get paid for, lol!).

What do you want to know about Sweden?
September 9, 2010 13:50

I'm working on adding a few pages about Sweden to my blog. And it got me curious as to what people outside of Sweden would like to know about Sweden? I would very much like to hear your ideas, thoughts and questions! Leave your comments in the shoutbox :-)

A pic of the Swedish flag and a traditional Swedish, miniature, midsummer pole.

I will tell you all about Swedish midsummer in my new pages. Hopefully they will be ready during or after the weekend.

Finally relaunch, yay!
August 31, 2010 21:00

It took many hours and many different layouts before I finally decided to keep it almost like it was before... I have added many pages, most of them under "Categories". If you want to link to me, I now have a whole page devoted to that, haha. But I have made most changes in the code, hopefully I have managed to get it a bit more SEO friendly?

Moving on to Lisen. She is now over believing she is pregnant, and back to her happy self. Which I think this pic, taken today, demonstrates quite well :-)

By the way, for all of you who have seen my old layout, I would love to hear your opinions on this one compared to the old. Improvement or not? And if anyone find errors, like broken links and so on, I'd appreciate feedback.

/A.L
