It feels like I am still trying to catch up with things from when I got back from my vacation in January. The main reason I am so behind with everything is because I have been working 10-12 hours almost every day since January 20th. There have been some changes at the company I work for so I have been asked to do other things than before, hence more work. However I am very grateful for that and I do hope I continue to get more work. Although it does feel weird not to be able to spend as much time in the Blogosphere as I am used to.
But, I, my blog and dog Lisen are not going anywhere. We are just in a more random post period right now. I truly appreciate all comments and feedback as always and will catch up with it all as soon as I get a bit longer breather than a few hours, which I think will be after this weekend.
Now while I have been swamped with work, a lot more snow has fallen outside. Which I love! Because with the snow comes a sense of calmness and light I feel , something very well needed at the moment. And because I work from home the only breaks I really get is when I take my dog Lisen out on walks, which is also the only time I have had lately with an opportunity to take some photos. So below are some recent photos of my neighbourhood here in Lyckeby in Sweden. :-)
The first thing my dog Lisen and I see when we come down the little hill from my apartment building.
Always extra fun to sniff in the snow it seems.
Snow in Lyckeby.
And it is on mornings like these I am very grateful my car is in a garage. :-)
I had decided that me and Lisen were going to walk home after our visit with my sister yesterday. A walk of 6 kilometres, no problem. Except that I did not expect it to be windy and snowy! I probably should have checked the weather forecast beforehand... Oh well, I was not about to let some weather conditions interrupt my plan. Especially since I just downed a pizza, hehe. So away we went.
And here are some pics of our walk. :-)
Left top pic: That's the road to town, takes about 15 minutes to walk from here (Galgamarken). But Lyckeby is the opposite way though, 6Ks away... In the right top pic: Lisen telling me to hurry! Below left pic: This is the road to Lyckeby. Behind me is Galgamarken, where we started our walk, and on the other side of the road is a cemetery. The buildings even further away, behind the cemetery, is our hospital. And in the below right pic: Lisen probably thinking that we have a long way to go...
Pose!
I'm forcing Lisen to sit and be a nice doggy, haha. My goal here is to take at least one nice pic of us, but she just wants to check out our surroundings all the time. Don't know what could possibly be more fun than posing for the camera, haha.
Come ooon!!! Top pic: At last she gets to walk in her own pace. Bottom pic: Although not completely her own pace. Because she still stops and waits for me whenever I stop. And I can see how she just wants to scream "Let's goooooooooo Alex!" every time. Haha!
In the end our walk took about 90 minutes. And when we finally got home, we were both pretty wet and tired!
I can't believe it's actually Christmas Eve tomorrow! It feels weird. Like I'm about one week behind. Oh well, no matter how I twist and turn it's still December 24th tomorrow, hehe. So, I'd better get with the programme. And I can't even describe how much I look forward to all the food!!! Yuuuummy! However I still have some gift shopping to do...yikes! And besides that I have to clean, both my apartment and dog. So today is going to be a busy day for me.
But before I get started, me and Lisen want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Here is Lisen on our morning walk today. It has been snowing heavily during the night and will continue to do so today and tomorrow. We are supposed to get about 30 more! centimeters of snow. So we will definitely have a white Christmas in Karlskrona this year.
We (me, my sister and dogs) finally managed to take a walk in our lovely forest of Rödeby yesterday. It was probably two weeks since we went for a real forest walk with both Lisen and Diva. We made plans several times to go, but each time something came up and we had to cancel. But yesterday away we went. And I don't even have to tell you how happy our dogs were to see their precious forest again (just check out the pics below, hihi). The fact that the forest was filled with snow up to their stomachs, only made it more fun :-p
Pics from yesterday.
We were a tired bunch afterwards, dogs and humans! :-)
Snow, snow, snow and...yes that's right - more snow! It just keeps on coming. So I thought I'd share some pics of Lyckeby covered in snow, and Lisen covered in snow :-) Not that Lisen mind the snow. Well, she does not like it when she get cramps in her legs or when snowballs get stuck under her paws, but besides that, she enjoys the snow.
Because Lisen has the dog breed New foundland in her, who originally lived in cold weather, her fur is adapted to withstand cold temperatures. And the main reason she has a jacket on is because last year we found out that she has a bit of plaque between some of her vertebras. Therefore our Vet suggested I put a jacket on her to insure she stays warm, which helps prevent her from getting inflammation in her back. But when she was younger she use to love jumping in the ice cold water and swim. And when she got up, her fur use to freeze into ice. Brrr!
This is something I love about snow, I can so clearly see where all wild animals have wandered. Usually when Lisen is sniffing around and pulling me in all kind of directions, I have no idea why. Now I can see why :-) Not that that makes her sniffing marathons more enjoyable for me though, LOL!
In the pics above are some footsteps we have encountered yesterday and today. And then one pic of Lisen shaking her booty, lol! I just had to post that one :-p
The first snow has officially landed in Lyckeby, Karlskrona. And not in a soft, calm manner. But with the forces of strong winds and freezing cold. It is now winter... Unfortunately for me I have not yet changed my summer tires to winter tires, so no driving tomorrow. Oh well, when the snow has settled, it is actually quite nice :-) Maybe I'll throw some snowballs at Lisen tomorrow, lol!
New feature
I have added a new comment feature, you can now comment on each post. I still have my cbox a bit further down. I would love to know what you think about this way of commenting. It's probably how it works on most blogs. I just don't like that you have to be moved to another page for it to work...But maybe it's better than just a cbox? Click on "Add comment to this post" below to try it out :-)
