When I was in Gothenburg recently I went for a quick visit to the Botanical Garden, which with its 175 hectares is one of the largest of its kind. But it was not the lovely flowers, trees or plants that became the main attraction during my visit - it was three ducks. Lol!
A lovely, soothing fountain at the entrance of the Botanical Garden in Gothenburg.
Well, it was soothing until these guys arrived.
Because this duck couple were not happy to have been followed by another male duck.
Which they loudly expressed to him.
And showed him.
Which caused quite the little scene.
But in the end, the poor guy finally gave up and flew away.
Which was when the female duck, who did all the chasing by the way, jumped in the fountain to wash off all the drama.
Under the male duck's watchful eye of course.
Washy, washy, washy.
But just when the duck couple thought it was time for some relaxation.
Another type of chase began...
Man, those ducks sure had a hectic day. Not sure why the other male duck tried to follow them though? It looked like he was interested in the female duck , but shouldn't he had challanged the male duck then? Oh well, I do not know much about ducks - except that they sure seem to be very stubborn birds. Lol!
Now of course there were a lot of other stunning things to see at the Botanical Garden in Gothenburg, but I will have to save those photos for another post. Because these three cute little duckies certainly deserve to have their own post. I mean, they were a big part of my visit to the Botanical Garden and will definitely stay in my travel memory for a long time to come. :-)
These cute little, very fisty, birds put on quite the show outside by the food dispenser at my sister's a while back. And let me tell you, it was very easy to get caught up in their drama and chatter out there. In fact, I would certainly say that they were more entertaining and fun to watch than any TV-show for sure. It was also a perfect photo opportunity for me of course. So below are some photos of Food Fight. :p
As I drove into my mum's neighborhood today I saw a cat up in a tree outside one of the houses there. The cat had climbed up a little tree and was balancing around up there on some pretty thin branches. Of course also in the tree were two birds, crows I think, who were croaking very loudly at the cat. Now I am not sure, but I think the birds had a nest up there? So they were probably trying to keep the cat away from it, or they were simply messing with the cat.
Anyway, this whole scene looked pretty intriguing to me. So as soon as I saw it I immediately stopped my car, rolled down the car window and started to take photos of it with my phone. I mean, this is about as close to a "Safari Moment" as I can get here in Karlskrona in Sweden. And of course, below are some photos of my Mini Safari Moment earlier today.
The Mini Safari entrance.
A "little lion" on the hunt.
Balancing on branches.
And gently scouting around.
As well as protecting his/her prey.
Sure felt like a little Safari Moment to meee. Now I am pretty sure nothing more than this actually happened up there though. Because when I drove by the same tree about ten minutes later, it was empty. No birds and no cat in sight.
Recently when I was in Karlshamn I managed to capture these two funny swans trying to impress each other, at least that is what it looked like they were trying to do to in my eyes. So below are some photos of a Swan Performance in Karlshamn in Sweden.
Lisen and I visited my sister yesterday. And while I was there I just happened to see this cute bird couple sitting up on a tree top. They looked so cosy and lovely up there! Like they were having the best time ever. I also really noticed how fall, with its gorgeous colors, has sneaked up on us here in Sweden.
And just like that, the moment became filled with such peace and beauty. A true moment of fall in love.
And I wonder what they were talking about up there?
