Teeth brush struggle - Me vs Lisen
May 17, 2011 3:57 PM

Lisen hates to get her teeth brushed!!! Blahhh!!! Although she was a lot more resistant when she was younger than she is today. Not in an aggressive way, just in a sort of - I don't like this so I won't make it easy for you - kinda way. Hehe.

Below are pics from how it looked earlier today during teeth brush time. Game on girlfriend!

But Lisen was pretty good today. She didn't try to pull away too much and I didn't get spattered with too much toothpaste drool either. So all in all, nice doggy! Definitely worthy of a little treat after this ordeal, which she got. :p

Spring and struggle
March 31, 2011 3:49 PM

Today I finally saw some bloomed wild flowers on my walk with Lisen, yay! This to me symbolizes that it's now officially spring here in Sweden.

Here they are. These flowers are called Snödroppar in Swedish, meaning Snow drops. And I love the flower in front in the pic. Because most of the Snow drops here grew in groups, except this one. It proudly stood all alone in front of all the other Snow drops. Like a little flower guard.

Which can be seen more clearly in this pic. I found it cool anyway, hehe.

So I said I saw these flowers on my "walk" with Lisen. Well, she is not much in the mood for long walks these days. This is because she is now in her post heat cycle, which means she believes she is pregnant for about two months. And at this moment she just wants to be home and rest. But I try to drag her along on walks anyway.

And this is how it looks...

Happy Birthday Lisen - the big 1-0
March 17, 2011 9:56 PM

Left pic: Lisen around 8-10 weeks. Right pic: Lisen today, 10 years old.

Today Lisen turned 10 years old!!! I can't believe she's "that old", hehe. Mainly because she still acts like a 2 year old most of the time, a bit slower though. But, 10 she is. And we all spoiled her today with a lot of goodies and fun activities so I'm pretty sure she had a great birthday.

Here are some pics from her B-day.

We started off this morning with a fun filled visit to the forest with Diva and my sister.

Then we stopped at my mums for some birthday lunch.

And presents.

When we got home Lisen got some more presents from me.

And now she's sound asleep with one of her birthdays gifts to keep her company. :p

I definitely love this dog! And I'm so grateful to have her in my life. Thank you Lisen, and may we have many more years together. :-)

Lisen is such a champion - sort of
February 28, 2011 8:07 PM

Today I took Lisen with me to Rödeby for a little movie making, hehe. I tried to make her show off what tricks she knows. All I can say is, yay for editing! Lol! Na, she wasn't that bad. Just her stubborn self. Which is why we have never enlisted her in any obedience competitions.

Anyway, I did manage to get her to do some tricks instantly on command. While others took a few takes to get right. So here we go, let me introduce to you the video:

By the way, this is the first video I have ever edited. :p

Lisen is on the hunt again
February 12, 2011 9:33 PM

My lovely little doggy Lisen is in heat again. Which means she is on the look out for male dogs to have pups with. This also involves even more sniffing around outside than usual. Plus some other behavioural changes. But it's aaall good. I mean, I would be worried if she didn't go through this twice a year, hehe.

And even though it's a bit of a struggle outside sometimes, she is so cute when she finds a dog she really likes. Whines and simply refuses to walk! Perhaps not as fun for me in the actual moment, but do I smile when I think about it afterwards.

Lisen earlier today on our walk in Lyckeby, checking out two dogs from a distance.

I get a lot of these looks, lol! Perhaps because I have to act as "the evil one" who stands in their way. Oh well, no more puppies for this lady!

And home again after our walk today. Feeling a bit blue perhaps?

I wish I was a dog sometimes
January 21, 2011 6:01 PM

Because dogs, like most animals, live in the moment all the time. Without too many thoughts or worries on their mind. At least that's how I perceive them. And it's so nice to simply live in the moment, though a bit more difficult for me to actually do. But I'm learning every day.

In the meantime I thought I'd share some pics of Lisen and Diva enjoying their doggy lives, and living in the moment. Doing some stuff I actually think would feel amazing to do myself, lol! But how would that look though...like I'm a lunatic perhaps? Lol!

The pics above are from yesterday when Lisen and I took a breather at some old castle ruins here in Lyckeby. As you can see, Lisen truly enjoyed herself. :-)

And these pics are from the forests of Rödeby earlier today. A visit Lisen and Diva also enjoyed every minute of, as did I. :-)

I wish you all a lovely weekend!

Me and Lisen walking 6K in blizzard
January 7, 2011 1:38 AM

I had decided that me and Lisen were going to walk home after our visit with my sister yesterday. A walk of 6 kilometres, no problem. Except that I did not expect it to be windy and snowy! I probably should have checked the weather forecast beforehand... Oh well, I was not about to let some weather conditions interrupt my plan. Especially since I just downed a pizza, hehe. So away we went.

And here are some pics of our walk. :-)

Left top pic: That's the road to town, takes about 15 minutes to walk from here (Galgamarken). But Lyckeby is the opposite way though, 6Ks away... In the right top pic: Lisen telling me to hurry! Below left pic: This is the road to Lyckeby. Behind me is Galgamarken, where we started our walk, and on the other side of the road is a cemetery. The buildings even further away, behind the cemetery, is our hospital. And in the below right pic: Lisen probably thinking that we have a long way to go...

Pose!

I'm forcing Lisen to sit and be a nice doggy, haha. My goal here is to take at least one nice pic of us, but she just wants to check out our surroundings all the time. Don't know what could possibly be more fun than posing for the camera, haha.

Come ooon!!!

Top pic: At last she gets to walk in her own pace. Bottom pic: Although not completely her own pace. Because she still stops and waits for me whenever I stop. And I can see how she just wants to scream "Let's goooooooooo Alex!" every time. Haha!

In the end our walk took about 90 minutes. And when we finally got home, we were both pretty wet and tired!
