Visiting the Big Apple is an experience you will likely never forget. It's big and it's busy! Various options on New York City breaks are readily available and once you know what type of trip you would like to experience you are ready to go. The key attractions of New York are accessible and not expensive if you do a bit of research about them and you can even enjoy a stroll around Times Square that will not break the bank. Combining culture with nature is very much what a trip to New York City can bring.

Central Park is vast and while the noise of the busy city is around you, here, is peace and tranquillity and wildlife will certainly join you. This wonderful piece of countryside in one of the most densely populated areas of the world is a haven of pleasure and delight. Visit the zoo or visit one of the free theatre performances which are on offer throughout the summer. Or listen to the calming music of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Central Park is a must-see, an integral part of New York City breaks.

New York Public library is free on 42nd Street and book-lovers will enjoy browsing this beautiful building and its contents. At the same time, Grand Central Station around the corner is a must on a New York City break. You can picture all the old movie which were filmed here and with plenty of places to eat, the library and Grand Central Station is a day out combined with a stroll around Times Square.

Visiting the Financial District and Ground Zero, the memorial site for 9/11 is humbling and here you can say a prayer for the people who were lost in the tragedy. In the 9/11 memorial shop, there is a whole wall of the people who lost their lives and a mark of respect can be left by your visit. You can then walk down to New York harbour where you can catch the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. Don't go via the tourist routes to see the Statue of Liberty. The Staten Island Ferry is free and you can travel as many times as you like and get close up views of the statue. Travel with the Staten Islanders who use the ferry to travel to the city each day for work. That really puts you in the thick of the action and who better to tell you about the iconic statue than the people who see it each day and it is free.

A visit to New York City will bring you many opportunities to taste the wonderful cuisine. From diners which offer wonderful food at reasonable prices to fine-dining, the choice is immense. The trip of a lifetime awaits you.
