Old Crooked Family Of Trees
March 11, 2012 6:51 PM

It is a beautiful Sunday here in Lyckeby in Sweden and a wonderful day to photograph the Old Crooked Family Of Trees that live outside my apartment building in Ekebacken Nature Reserve. Now trees always fascinates me. They look so solid and calm where they stand, like they have no worries in the world. And many of the trees here in Ekebacken Nature Reserve have been there hundreds of years so they must have seen and experienced so many things in their life time. But still they just stand there, well some have fallen down. Hehe. Anyway, below are some photos of a few patient old trees up here.

Now Ekebacken literally translates to Oak Hill and has for centuries been a gathering place for people in eastern Blekinge, Blekinge is the name of the county Lyckeby belongs to. Ekebacken has been a Nature Reserve since 1969 and is approximately 14 acres large.

And I love to walk up there all seasons of the year with my dog Lisen. It is such a calm and soothing place to be in and it is filled with lots of little wild animals. For example, I have seen hares, squirrels, foxes, deers, snakes and lots of different birds and insects in Ekebacken. Some more fun to encounter than others of course, lol. But I am very happy to live so close to this little Nature Reserve and I hope its inhabitants and these amazing trees live on for many more years to come. :-)

Odd Sunshine
December 12, 2011 8:43 PM

We have had quite a few storms recently here in Karlskrona in Sweden, hence a lot of wind and rain. No snow though... Last year we had a ton of snow by now. But actually it really does not feel like we will have a snowy winter at all this season. Either way it sure was nice to be able to take a nice walk with my dog Lisen without having to worry about becoming wet or blowing away yesterday morning. Because my dog Lisen did have to struggle bit to remain on the ground a few evenings ago. Hehe.

Anyway, we had very nice weather conditions yesterday morning here in Lyckeby. And below are some shots from our walk in odd sunshine.

What Was On Your Mind Mr. Tiger?
November 21, 2011 6:53 PM

What Was On Your Mind Mr. Tiger?
This lovely tiger photo was taken at one of the zoos I visited in Australia in 2007.

And close encounter indeed, because the only thing that kept this tiger and boy apart was a few centimeters of glass. It also seemed to me like this tiger was more intrigued by the boy than the other way around. Which in turn now makes me wonder; what was on your mind Mr. Tiger? Hm..?

Mirrors In Lyckeby River

The Lyckeby River here in Sweden was absolutely stunning this morning. It looked like a giant, oblong mirror filled with reflections of its neighbors. An irresistible photo opportunity in other words! So below are some photos of how Lyckeby River played with the sunshine earlier today.

Burning Skies

I have gathered some photos of stunning sunsets and skies I have been fortunate to see here in Lyckeby in Sweden. Actually three of these photos are taken from my balcony. The fourth one is taken when I was on a walk with my lovely dog Lisen here in Lyckeby. So here they are - My Burning Skies. :-)

Wet Grass Close Up

A few days ago I took a closer look with my Canon EOS 450D at some wet grass in Rödeby forest here in Sweden. And below is some of what I saw there.

I am always amazed at what I find when I take a closer look at my surroundings. Because beauty truly exist everywhere and all the time. Even in some simple wet grass. So Thank You Mother Nature for this wonderful photo op! Much appreciated. :p

Trees Of Sunshine

These photos represent why I LOVE fall! Now I pass these trees several times every day here in Lyckeby in Sweden. But today it struck me that they all look like they have been infected by a serious dose of sunshine. So beautiful!!! :-)

And even though we turn back the clock one hour this Sunday in Sweden so we can maximize our use of daylight during this time of the year. These types of radiating natural resources definitely also help to brighten up these darker days. Lovely, lovely! :-)

Worried Skies With A Touch Of Sun
October 21, 2011 6:53 PM

It is definitely fall here in Sweden right now. Which means magnificent colors, wind, rain and the occasional sunshine. Something my dog Lisen and I got a stunning glimpse and experience of a few days ago on our walk here in Lyckeby.

Worried Skies With A Touch Of Sun
When it was a windy day with worried skies outside.

Worried Skies With A Touch Of Sun
But also a beautiful day with a touch of sunshine.

And because we did manage to avoid the rain, the walk we had was indeed very nice. :-)
