I recently got home from an amazing one week all inclusive vacation visit to Ayia Napa in Cyprus. I had such an awesome time there! Not only was the island of Cyprus super stunning with many fantastic beaches, the hotel I stayed at was excellent and the weather was perfect. What more can one possibly ask for? Now my week in Cyprus was all about relaxation and pleasure, meaning it was all about lazy days on the beach and/or in the pool. But I did of course take a ton of photos! Below are some of them. :-)
The back door entrance to the hotel we, my sister and I, stayed at - the Olympic Lagoon Resort.
Drinks by the pool. Ahhh!! Oh how I miss this (already)!! Hehe. ;p
This was not so bad either.
Now the drinks and food at the hotel were great, but nothing was as delicious as all the desserts there! They were perfect! Each and every one I tried tasted as amazingly scrumptious as it looked, even better many times. The ones in the photo were just a few of my favourites; a mini toffee cake, a mini lemon meringue pie and a mini strawberry tart - YUM!!! :p
This beach, Golden Beach, was the beach closest to our hotel - about a five minute walk.
It was also perfect! Sand beach, sand bottom and beautiful clear water.
Where it sure was nice to cool off there about every fifteen minutes. Lol! Because it was a minimum of 30 degrees Celsius every day, which was pretty hot for me...
Another lovely little beach nearby, which I think was exclusively for guests at the Adam's Beach Hotel though...
But it sure looked lovely out there, ahhh!!
About a fifteen minute walk from our hotel was the ever so popular Nissi Beach with its little island.
Lots of people there in other words.
All kinds of people, though it has a reputation of being mostly occupied by young party people.
The little island.
Which you could walk across the water to get to and climb up on.
View over Nissi Beach from the little island.
The water was very shallow and crazy crystal clear! So beautiful!
About three kilometers from the hotel was Ayia Napa city center, where this charming church was.
Wich was located nearby this majestic 600 year old sycamore tree.
Which in turn was situated right outside the entrance to a monastery which dated back to the 1500s.
And it really did feel like stepping back into the middle ages when I went in there, with all the stone and creepy statues.
But it was quite a pretty place as well.
And a popular place to take wedding photos. Aww. :-) Actually, I have never seen so many wedding couples as I did in Cyprus. So it definitely seems like a popular place to get married.
Now the really cool thing about this monastery was that it was partially underground and carved into a rock. And I just adored that lamp in the right photo, gorgeous.
Though no nuns nor monks lived in the monastery, it was a safe haven for lots of cute kitties.
Who did not mind posing for us tourists. Hehe.
Now the actual city of Ayia Napa, which was not very big, mostly consisted of restaurants, pubs, bars, night clubs, shops and other touristy stuff. So we did not spend much time there. It was cozy though.
A fun encounter. Lol! High five, Fred!
Of course I had to take a ride in this fancy vehicle! Lol!
All in all, well - the words in the photo above describe my week in Cyprus quite accurate. :p
And how could I possibly end this post in any other way than this? ♥
Now this post is the first in almost a month for me, which is the longest break I have had from blogging since I started three years ago. But I simply have not had time. However I now have almost one more week of vacation and my plan is to catch up with my blogging and blog presence out there in the blogosphere during this week. So I am very excited! I mean, going to Cyprus was great. But being able to blog about it and share my experience here is about as awesome as the actual trip. :-)
